Overview

March will prove to be a game changing month on the Arkansas as we can expect fishing conditions to gradually improve with the weather

Current Conditions

Although the caddis hatch is the most famed event on the Arkansas River, the months leading up to the annual hatch can be even more productive. The warm temperatures we're seeing this week will certainly help get the bugs and fish moving, so expect fishing to improve greatly if this warm spell continues. Fish are still holding the deep, slow pools, although the increased water temperatures is making them more willing to "move to eat" (i.e. you don't to get your fly right infront of their face).

Hatches

Stones (nymphs), Midges, Baestis (nymphs)
