Overview
Very Hot!
Current Conditions
I fished the upper North Fork near Creedmores lakes. Very hot action, lots of fish that seemed all very willing to take a dry fly if you could get the cast right. Nothing huge in there, lots and lots of rainbow, browns and brookies in the 6-12” range. The fish are very spooky and the water very clear so I suggest subdued colors or camo clothes and expect to spend some time crawling around boulders etc. to get into position. If you’ve fished the area before you can tag waypoints on a GPS to get you from the river to Creedmore but be prepared to break a sweat getting up the canyon wall to the stillwater or vice versa-all told it is about a 7 mile round trip – if you are lucky you can usually get a ride most of the way back to the river from Creedmore lakes through. I hiked/fished downstream for a few miles, then crossed over to the upper Creedmore lake.
