Overview

Great fishing to be had on the upper Ark

Current Conditions

The upper Arkansas River is a wonderful late summer fishing option. Because of it's higher elevation, this section of water tends to have lower water temperatures, which produces more active fish and better hatches. Lower water also make the wading much, much easier then the lower river. Dry dropper fishing will be your most effective technique, although nymphing the riffles and deep pools with double fly rig will also produce some nice fish. Late evening have been all about the dry fly, so ditch your Bead Head dropper around 4pm, and try out some smaller dries.
