This is no “How To” DVD, it is Fly Fishing Porn at its best. Seriously folks, after I watched this I was completely amped to get out and throw a line and I did. I dream of those monster New Zealand browns and contemplate how to tie a bumblebee or how I would do next to these guys trying to cast a ping pong ball in the wind.
I pride myself in my ability to tough it out, hike to the fish that others don’t, camp in the backcountry for days on end, fishing from dawn to dark. I seek fishing buddies who are equally serious. After watching these guys fish all day, tie tomorrows flies by headlamps, then drive to the next destination so they are there before dawn I called my buddies and announced we were pussies who’d better step it up this year. Also tried to figure out how I could quit my job and take a 3 month road trip without also getting divorced. I’ll let you know if I figure that one out.
Anyway, this DVD also stands out because of its high production value, footage, editing, soundtrack etc. it feels like a big ticket production company. If you are looking for something Warren Miller would produce if he fished instead of skied - this is it.
