2008 Rocky Mountain Fly Fishing Festival

The Rocky Mountain Fly Fishing Festival is a one of a kind event offering all fly fishers the opportunity to try and learn about new fly fishing gear in an on-river environment, as well as participate in FREE on-river fly fishing classes and seminars. The First Annual Rocky Mountain Fly Fishing Festival will take place at the Historic Lincoln Hills Fly Fishing Club, just outside of Pinecliffe, CO on South Boulder Creek. Just a short 45 minute drive from Denver, Lincoln Hills offers over 2 ˝ miles of river access, as well as a 5 acre lake and 16 smaller ponds. The beauty of the area offers a classis rocky mountain backdrop to a pristine Colorado stream. We hope to see many of you there, but remember that space is limited to 150 people, so sign up today!

  1. Take 8th Avenue west to Kalamath (1.6 miles)
  2. Turn slight left onto Kalamath St. heading south toward 6th Ave (0.2 miles)
  3. Turn slight right onto 6th Avenue West/US 6 West toward Golden (13.6 miles)
  4. Stay straight to go onto CO-93 towards Boulder (8.3 miles)
  5. Turn Left onto CO-72/Coal Creek Canyon Rd. toward Pinecliffe (15.7 miles)
  6. Turn left onto S. Beaver Creek Rd./CR-11 (0.6 miles)
  7. Stay straight onto Pactolus Lake Rd (0.5 miles)
  8. End at Lincoln Hills Fly Fishing Club, 655 Pactolus Lake Rd.

Special Note: No parking on Pactolus Lake Road or South Beaver Road. All participants must park in designated parking area on Lincoln Hills property.

Entrance Fee gets participant access to all available demo gear, FREE access to classes and seminars, 1 box lunch, and 1 ticket in the day’s main raffle.

Free Fly Fishing Classes and Seminars offered thru the Flyfisher Angling University. Schedule of Classes and Seminars is as follows:

  • 10:30 – 11:15: Beginner Fly Fishing
  • 11:30 – 12:30: Kid Fishing Clinic
  • 1:00 – 1:45: Streamer Fishing
  • 2:00 – 2:45: Nymph Fishing
  • 3:00 – 3:45: Dry Fly Fishing

Special Note to Participants:

This is a Demo Day, not an open fishing day on private water. Participants will be allowed to bring their own waders, boots, vest/fishing bag, and terminal tackle (flies, leaders, tippets, weights, etc.) but will not be allowed into the event with their own rod and reel. We hope that this will encourage all participants to enjoy the exceptional fishing at Lincoln Hills while trying new products and taking advantage of the free classes and seminars that will take place throughout the day. Ample rods and reels will be available from all brands, as well as a comprehensive size selection of waders and boots for those who don’t have any.
