Happy Hour - Warm Water Fishing Opportunities in Colorado with Jake McKittrick

Jake McKittrick is a signature fly tier for Solitude Fly Company, a pro-staff angler for Scott Fly Rods, Nautilus Reels, and Korkers Boots, as well as co-star of Barry Reynolds new DVD, "Urban Assault". Jake, a Colorado native, grew up fishing for trout along the Western Slope, but since living in Denver has become a warm water fishing fanatic. Not only does he think like a fish, but he knows how to tie flies that no species (trout, bass, carp, pike, etc.) can resist. Jake will be conducting a presentation on Warm Water Fishing in Colorado. He'll cover tactics and strategies for chasing everything from Carp and Bass, to Pike and the illusive Wiper. This is a not to be missed seminar for anybody looking to explore the vast warm water fishing opportunities around Colorado. Jakes presentation will begin at 6pm. In addition, enjoy GUIDE PRICES on all flies (starting @ $1.50/fly), 10% OFF all terminal tackle, 20% OFF all fly tying materials

Fly Fishing 220 - Learn to fish with hookless flies and a single barbless circle hook

This one day class begins in our classroom and ends on the water. It is designed to demonstrate and teach you how to use the Moffitt Angling System. What is the Moffitt Angling System? Good question. We realize your time on the river is limited and therefore very valuable. The Moffitt System is designed to maximize your "flies in the water" time on the water with some very unique variables. First, because the system is centered around unique hookless flies, you are able to fish multiple flies on the same leader without the expected tangles. By presenting three or more different patterns on every drift, you virtually triple or better your chances of a strike. Second, the unique barbless circle hook (tied at the end of the leader) holds securely in the trout's jaw after the strike, and releases quickly and easily when the fight is over. There is only one hook which means you only tie one knot. Finally, for nymphing Moffitt developed a "Contact Leader" which is specifically designed to sink fast, minimize drag for more controlled and natural drifts and maintain better contact with your flies for improved detection of subtle takes. The Contact Leader all but eliminates the need for weight which drastically reduces hang ups on the river bottom.
